Music Makers
Music Makers is a two-year learning program that includes singing, creative as well as structured movement, playing instruments and ensemble work, ear training and guided listening. This developmentally sound approach to music literacy builds symbolic thinking, concentration, memory, and self expression. Watch your child begin to learn musical notation, play multiple part ensembles, and learn more complex dances
In part II, Music Makers: Around the World, your child will explore the music of the British Isles, Germany, and our own Amerindian and African-American music heritage. She will learn songs, dances, stories, rituals, and customs of these cultures to help her feel and understand others around the world. At the end of this two-year program, your child will have a comprehensive music foundation which is an excellent preparation for the next step, Music Makers: At the Keyboard.

Music Makers at Home (4-7 years, caregiver optional)
4 and young 5 year olds must be graduates of Cycle of Seasons to enroll
In this hour long class, your child will be engaged in activities that establish a solid music making foundation. This year focuses on your child’s fascination with nature and develops a love of instruments. Your child will be introduced to the sounds of orchestral instruments individually, and then in the context of an ensemble. Such a listening foundation will lead to long-term success with music reading in future classes. The elements of music reading are explored in fun games, and children begin to recognize the patterns they have been practicing in earlier Musikgarten classes in actual notation. Registration includes 2 CD’s, 2 parent books, rhythm and melody notation games, 2 posters, instrument pages and a staff coloring sheet in a sturdy folder.
